Pilsner Urquell tourist trail among the top world-destination on TripAdvisor

Awarded the Certificate of Excellence for 2014, the trail was included among the 10 percent of the best-rated tourist destinations in the world. With nearly 150 million authenticated reviews from real world-travellers, competition is fierce. Beginning this year, visitors to Plzeňský Prazdroj may participate in a special beer-brewing school held at the historic brewery.

The Pilsner Urquell trail at the brewery offers visitors a chance to learn about the history of the legendary lager, which serves as a model to more than two-thirds of all beers made throughout the world. Tourists can visit authentic facilities within the brewery where beer has been produced since 1842. They will also see Pilsner Urquell’s modern bottling-plant, which boasts a capacity of 120,000 bottles per hour along with the truly unique variety of ingredients used at the plant. Adult visitors will have chance to taste unfiltered and non-pasteurised Pilsner Urquell beer served directly from oak lager barrels, which are all located in the historic cellars of the brewery.
The ideal afternoon for all beer lovers starts with the tour and ends with a new program offered by the brewery for the first time this year: The Pilsner Urquell School of Beer Care. The Pilsner Urquell School of Beer Care will be held in nothing less than the authentic environment of the Pilsen brewery. It will teach visitors how to brew beer using correct methods in fun ways. Under the supervision of the master brewer, they can try brewing beer themselves and truly taste what it means to be a master bartender. The Pilsner Urquell School is available by reservation for 10 to 40 people and can last from 1 to 3 hours.
